RYA Powerboat Training Scheme

The Sailing Academy is just about to undergo its inspection by the Royal Yachting Association to permit us to issue certification under the internationally acclaimed RYA Powerboat training scheme.

The programme offers a range of training for both the novice powerboater and the more experienced with  courses ranging from a 1 day introductory course to a 3 day advanced course with both day and night exercises.

The programme is supported by the Brunswick Group (Mercury Marine), who have supplied the Academy with a superb 5.5 metre Savage Cobia, aluminium boat with a centre consol with GPS Plotter, powered by a 60hp Mercury 4 stroke outboard engine (see picture).

The boat has been specifically given to support the development of this programme.

On completion of the inspection, the academy will become the first in Malaysia and among a very select few in Asia to be able to offer this internationally recognised powerboat training programme.
