RSYC MERDEKA REGATTA 2009
28th – 31st August
A warm welcome is extended to all keelboat and motor boat owners to participate in this year’s RSYC Merdeka Regatta. For the competitive sailors there will be a race from Port Klang to Sembilan Islands, a Platu race against the Royal Malaysian Navy and a Pangkor Island day race. Cruising sailors and motor boaters are invited to cruise in company and enjoy diving, snorkeling and beach parties. The event is open to all yachtsmen in the region.
Outline Programme (to be refined as participation is confirmed)
Friday 28th August
Overnight keelboat race from Port Klang to the Sembilan Islands (start time tbc)
Saturday 29th August
Yachts assemble in Pasir Bogak, Pulau Pangkor – check in to resorts.
Inter-port Platu Race against RMNYC
Seafood Dinner at Seaview Resort, Pangkor Island
Sunday 30th August
Pangkor Island Race for the Pangkor Laut Cup (start 1400)
Prize Giving Dinner at Emerald Bay, sponsored by Pangkor Laut Resort
(1900 for 1930)
Monday 31st August
Boats disperse to their bases, or to Lumut.
