NOTICE TO MEMBERS
Dear Members,
The Club Committee has been
investigating ways and means of making the Club’s Food & Beverage
services more attractive. Following the 2009 AGM, an F&B Sub
Committee was formed in April 2009 to review the services and recommend
changes to be implemented to raise the standards and restore
profitability.
A parallel exercise was conducted to
investigate whether a private F&B operator would be prepared to
take over the Club’s F&B services. Advertisements soliciting
expressions of interest were placed in English and Chinese Language
newspapers in April 2009, and 4 parties responded. Following
visits to the Club and briefing on current operations, they were
invited to submit sealed tender proposals. The F&B Sub
Committee reviewed the proposals and short listed 2 parties who were
invited to make presentations. One of these parties, KKH
Enterprise, was deemed to be most suitable, and detailed discussions
led to an agreement between the Club and KKH Enterprise to contract out
the Club’s F&B operations with effect from 1st October 2009.
The Club Committee will retain
overall responsibility for ensuring the provision of F&B services
to Members via the F&B Sub Committee. The Operator will take
over the existing F&B Department in its entirety, including the
current F&B staff at their present functions and benefits levels,
and the current menu. The new Operator may adjust and augment staff
levels to suit his requirements and ensure adequate services, and make
proposals to upgrade the menu, subject to F&B Sub Committee
agreement. He will also introduce a new training scheme to improve the
performance of individual staff.
Members wishing to comment on the new
arrangements, make suggestions or lodge complaints should do so to the
F&B Sub Committee Members, or in writing to the Club Office which
will pass them on.
Your Committee hopes and expects that
the new arrangements will enhance the Club’s F&B services, and will
maintain close contact with the Operator to ensure this.
Thank you for your understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Dato’ Alex Nah
