A second home to 'yachties' from all over the country, the Royal Selangor Yacht Club stands proudly today, with a typically Malaysian profile as well as a nautical theme with its cascading roof reminiscent of sail, which shouldn’t surprise anyone as the Club is, after all, the sanctuary for lovers of the sea.

Thanks to recent review of Club facilities and services, and the implementation of better systems, Club F&B outlets are now operating like well oiled machines. At the Sapura Dining Room, an eclectic array of gastronomic delights ranging from local hawker favourites to classic western dishes is proffered.

There's also the MAS Terrace where sailors often convene after races for drinks and snacks, whilst the air-conditioned Kenaga Rooms are ideal for private functions and small conferences. With satellite TV, a bar and a karaoke lounge, the rooms are adjustable for functions of varying capacity.

A full service Magnum Bar area, whilst a separate air-conditioned lounge area for informal meetings, a committee and trophy room, surau room and administration office are also located within the Clubhouse.

The Club swimming and paddling pools have adjacent locker and shower rooms. For budding swimmers, a pool attendant is available for lessons.

Besides ample car parking with security for members and friends, the Club also owns a number of sailboats and powerboats, which are available for short and long term hire and charter to members, associations and corporations. Private members' yachts are sometimes also offered for hire and charter to members, associations and corporations for fishing, picnics or sightseeing tours.

A number of pontoon berths as well as short-term pontoon and swinging mooring berths for visitors are provided. Round the clock security is provided by a patrol craft which doubles as a water taxi for transferring passengers and goods between the pontoons and Clubhouse.

With something for everyone, whether it's sailing, fishing, or even just for a hearty well-cooked meal, the Club is truly a welcome haven from the hustle and bustle of city life.
